This project started with a few inspiration photos along with a request to use family gold and diamonds. To embody the spirit of the moon, the finished 14K gold pendant features a lunar landscape which I made by employing reticulation. This involves controlling my torch to produce an organic texture. To give it a little added flair, I flush-set her diamonds in craters.

For this commission, I designed a ring to feature this natural 7.73 carats checkerboard cushion cut pink tourmaline. It is classically presented in 18k yellow gold and platinum. Each element of this ring is entirely hand created and assembled piece by piece so that every detail is finished properly.
In commission work my creative approach focuses on the individual. In my own work, influences seem to be constantly modified by other inspirations: the art of light, the natural world, and even family life, which I blogged about here.
